I contacted Jarrod to assist with the sale of the items in my late fathers house. It was a wonderful experience with great communication and excellent advice. The auction was professionally executed. Virtually every item in the house sold which left little to be disposed off. That was important as I was 6 hours away from my fathers home. I highly recommend his services.

When my mom passed away I was overwhelmed with the task of emptying the house and preparing it for sale. I met with Jarrod and then contracted with Farmer Auctions to handle the online auction. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable, offering advice and answering all my questions and concerns. He is very thorough and was easy to work with. His staff was professional and knowledgeable also.

Great people with great auctions. I took a chance at a Walt Disney autograph for $800, and it came back PSA authentic. Walt Disney is one of the most forged autographs on the market and they represented it well and gave enough info for me to research the item and make a decision. The shipping company they use is also great to work with.

I had to move back to Maryland without preparing my condo unit for sale. Jarrod Hines took over when I left the area. He had the unit cleaned, and auctioned unwanted belongings before listing.
The auction brought a big surprise, largely due to knowledgeable and attentive appraisers and staff. Years ago, I had boxed up some old books from my grandfather's attic, mostly in poor condition. Some were quite interesting -- one was a history of slavery in the U.S. published over 100 years ago. It brought a reasonable price and included info on the 1839 voyage of the Amistad (1997 movie). But the real windfall was a 1637 Descartes book that sold for over $4000!!! Farmer Auctions had listed the book as its own lot, so it brought plenty of attention.

Great experience using Farmer Auction. We needed to purge 60 years of collecting thousands of items!! The research they did on each item was mind boggling!! And the beautiful photography of each lot was unbelievable! I thought we had a house full of "stuff" but they made it look like a showcase. We will absolutely use Farmer Auction again!

2018- Purchase of 600 Oak Level Road, Stanleytown, VA

Over the Christmas holidays my husband and I came across an online ad for a home auction that looked interesting. Since we would be driving home from our holiday near the area we decided to contact Jarrod Hines of Farmer Auctions to see if he might allow us to view the property even though it was not during one of the scheduled previews. Jarrod was very helpful and set up a time for one of his staff, Mr. Miller, to meet with us and show us the property.
We fell in love! We knew we had found our forever home! Finally after living all over the country we had found it!
Since we were Living 4 hours away, Jarrod and his staff did everything possible to help us with doing our due diligence before the auction and this made making this purchase so much easier.

I had old jewelry sitting around for a long time when a friend of mine told me about Farmer Auctions. I had worried I would sell it for too little since I couldn't tell what had real stones and what didn't. They made it incredibly easy. I have no experience with auctions-buying or selling. The thought of trying to do something with my parents household was emotional and overwhelming. I spoke with several auction companies and was not impressed. Most were pushy and unprofessional.
After calling Farmers Auctions, I knew within 1 minute that these guys were very professional. Jarrod and his team took care of everything. They kept me updated throughout the entire process. They went through the entire house-every drawer, closet, the basement and attic.
All the anxiety was gone and I was so relieved and satisfied. These guys must be called before you choose an auction company.

Farmer conducted an online auction of household belongings from our mother’s estate. Our interactions with Farmer personnel were outstanding. I was highly impressed by their curtesy and efficiency. The entire auction process was well organized and produced a result well within the range of our expectations. This is an Awesome company!! They have some wonderful employees. Everything that I have bought from them has been exactly how it was described in the details. Other auction houses aren't as knowledgeable about their items like the staff for Farmer Auctions. These people do their research on their items. I have had some health problems and they have been extremely kind. Kassie is just the sweetest young lady and very pleasant to talk with on the phone. Dan is another employee that is always very kind and helpful. These two are the employees that I have had the most interactions. Jarrod is also very nice. I recommend this establishment to everyone! They are honest and are just good people all around.

Professional and courteous! My father was a bit of a hoarder and I would never have been able to sort out and value all of his personal property alone. Farmer Auctions took care of everything! Their staff was professional, efficient and courteous. I will definitely use them in the future.

I engaged Farmer Auctions to empty a house my great-great grandfather built. It has been continuously occupied for over 100 years (read - it was packed). I do not live near the house, and was not able to work on this project myself. Farmer Auctions did an excellent job sorting and evaluating all the items in the house and in an adjacent dependency. Farmer Auction experts were very skilled at creating lots, and displaying, describing and photographing each item. From them, I learned the importance of marketing a sale. They did an outstanding job positioning the sale and using social media, netting bidders in 11 different states. Jarrod and his team helped me liquidate my family members personal property as we needed to downsize. He also was the Realtor for her home and it sold in less than a week. He explained the services and excuted the plan on time. I highly recommend as they are professional, honest and hard working. He and his team know what will and won't sell. We were closing a business and selling the contents. Farmer Auctions provided us several options to accomplish the task. For various reasons it took longer than it should have ( on our part) and Farmer Auctions hung in there and helped us get through the process. We were pleased with the outcome. Our auction ended very close to time they moved to their new location and a few items were packed and moved with them but quickly were returned. I would highly recommend them.

Jarrod and his staff are very professional and experts at what they do. Everything was accomplished as agreed. I had a family members military collection to dispose of and Farmer Auctions and all of their staff did an awesome job in all areas, from picking up the collection of items, to the research and marketing to buyers, display, photography, and the actual auction. We were in the process of downsizing when a friend attended a program by Mr. Will Farmer on appraising, auctions and today’s styles and trends. She relayed that our mid-century modern furniture was back in vogue. We were familiar with the Farmer name from Antiques Roadshow, but knew little about the auction business. We showed Will Farmer, now owner of the business, photographs of our furniture and he was interested. He came to our home, looked at the furniture, described the auction process and carefully reviewed the contract we would sign. From start to finish the entire process was very professional. The Salem, Virginia gallery is spacious and well organized with plenty of parking. The entire staff is very friendly and courteous. The movers were very nice and careful. We were kept informed at every step. We were given a possible range of prices each item might bring, but no promises were made. Auction day was fascinating and fun. Some items brought more than expected and some less. In the end it was a wonderful experience and one we would not hesitate to do again.

What an enjoyable experience! Will Farmer goes the extra mile to find unique collections, beautiful jewelry, quality furniture and amazing art. The auctions are always a fun experience and his experienced staff is exceptional. I was lucky enough to walk away with an entire bedroom set at an unbelievable price the last time I was there. The craftsmanship is something you can’t find at most furniture stores today. Everyone asks where I find my treasures. The secret is out… I love Farmer Auctions and I will never pay retail again!
