Antique Photos 101
At some point in our lives, most of us have spent time rummaging through a box of old photographs, leafing through many years' worth of memories captured on film. While most of our cherished photographs were created within living memory, a few of us are lucky enough to inherit images from a much earlier period. In this tutorial we will cover some basic information intended to help you identify some the mediums used by 19th century practitioners and estimate the approximate age of your early photographs.
