Mrs Ferris, loved ceramics and fashion. She had a wardrobe and accessories collection to rival most any department store. She enjoyed cooking for her church and her co workers, which required a nice selection of baking supplies. Also included is a nice patio set, vintage Pyrex and Corningware, beautiful handmade quilts, clocks, handmade wooden items by Kenneth Ferris, household furnishings, railroad collectibles, autographed baseballs, antique Christmas decor, rare Garst Brothers cowbell, beautiful glassware and tools

Mary and Chuck Houska lived in their beautiful home, which is a reproduction of the George Wythe home (colonial Williamsburg, VA) for over 60 years.  They shared passions for collecting antiques, gardening, and traveling the world.  They both retired as Professors. Chuck Houska retiring from Virginia Tech as Professor Emeritus of Materials Science and Engineering & Mary Houska from Hollins University as Associate Professor of Economics.
Their valuable collection contains over 200 years of family history, primarily stemming from ancestor, Samuel Sanford, who was a successful Boston ship owner and merchant.  The Sanford’s were long an active part of Boston Society.  The Sanford antiques and collection are New England based.  In addition to the Sanford collection, Chuck Houska’s hobby was to make antique furniture reproductions, producing many beautiful pieces over the years, which blended well with the original antiques inherited from the New England ancestors.

Also N scale trains by Minitrix and Microtrain with multiple engines and rolling stock mostly new in original boxes in both scales.  Railroad locks, keys, and lantern from Norfolk and Western, Chesapeake and Ohio, and others as well as three 21 Jewel pocket watches by Elgin and Hamilton.  West Virginia coal scrip and scatter tag collection from various mines including New River, Winding Gulf, Logan Chilton, and many others. Plus other tokens, medals, elongated cents, wooden nickels, etc.  1990s comic book collection including Marvel, DC, and independents with a large group of various Spider-Man titles and several with Venom and Carnage appearances.  1970s baseball cards including 1972 Topps Carlton Fisk rookie card, 1973 Topps Mike Schmidt rookie card, 1969 Topps Mickey Mantle, and other 1973 Topps with stars.  Vintage toys with 1959 Barbie doll and 1960 Ken doll with original box, plus trucks from Wyandotte, Structo, and Hubley. As well as a collection of 1985 Cabbage Patch Dolls in original boxes.  Primitive collectibles including Pulaski Virginia cat ear basket with blue ribs, oak basket with green paint, Bland County Virginia quilt and other early quilts, crocks, North Carolina alkaline glaze pitcher, cranberry scoop, tools, etc.   Advertising including AC parts flange sign, Tom’s store counter jar, etc.  Plus other unique finds.  All for your bidding pleasure!
